So two weeks ago, during my ten miler, I found a woman’s credit card along the trail. Instead of leaving it there for someone else to find and do bad things with, I picked up, figuring I’d know what to do once I finished my run. Brought it home, told Roswell, and he did his internet wizardry and found the woman’s phone number and called her. She was so thankful that I’d found it and she hadn’t even noticed that it was missing and she wished nothing but the best karma to me…
Fast forward to this weekend. I couldn’t find one of my cards and just figured I misplaced it somewhere in between switching purses. I still hadn’t found it when I logged onto Chase on Monday and saw a charge pending from Delta Airlines. Mind you, I’m not flying anywhere on Delta anytime soon.
Thank you for everyone that has donated so far. I realize I will probably not hit the $2,800 goal I had set for myself. However, every dollar still counts and this is the last week to enter the raffle for a box of Powerbar Gels (or the energy gel of your choosing)
Since I have to be showered and presentable by 11am in Reston on Sunday morning, I won’t be able to join the DC tumblr crew across the river. :(
But I still have 11 on the schedule to get done early Sunday morning. I can’t decide whether I should head to Burke Lake and do two and a half loops or go to the W&OD and just do 5.5 out and back. Help me decide, tumblr?
I hurt it while running my ten miles last Friday, adjusting my water belt. Something in the downward motion tweaked my shoulder tendons. Thankfully, I believe Bikram helped it on Sunday and it felt fine through my run and group training on Mondays (including push ups, push up rows, etc).
Tuesday morning, I wake up and my shoulder/bicep is screaming. Since then, I have: iced, heated, taken ibuprofen, taken acetaminophen, taken aspirin, rested. NOTHING has made my shoulder feel better.
At my massage on Tuesday, my masseur said that he didn’t feel any damage, that it was probably just aggravated and I should soak it in a hot bath. That did nothing.
Damn, you probably already went and I have a bike on the agends for today! But I totally could do 9 next weekend at Burke Lake… We should try to work that out.
I have a 5K on Saturday morning and then an Alpha Gam training at 10am on Sunday morning… So I could join you for at least one loop early Sunday (4/15)?
Next few weekends: 4/14: Wolf Trap 5K 4/20 (Friday): 10 miles 4/22: 5 miles (early - going to Craft Beer & Food Truck Festival at noon) 4/29: 11 miles 5/5 or 5/6: 12 miles (also might be in TN? not sure yet) 5/12 or 5/13: probably around 7 miles 5/20: Historic Half in Fredericksburg
So… do any of those fit with your schedule? :) This goes for any of the DC/NoVa’ers or anyone else near by! :)
DC Beer lovers - During the month of April, 15 top beer bars are selling D.C. Beer Week buttons for $10 to raise funds for the annual brew festival, which will be held from August 12-18 this year. Through April 30, flashing the badge in participating establishments is good for discounted food and drinks.
Some of my favorite places, Churchkey, Bourbon and Jack Rose are participating so I may need to get me a button asap.
I’m slowing cleaning out my closet… it’s a mix of some things that are now too large (yay!), some things that I’ve never worn that are now too large (urgh…), and some things that are no longer my style (new and used). I’m hoping to put anything I earn in this shop to good use - either donating to the many good causes that all you tumblr folk are raising money for or by going straight towards my grad school.
I’ll be adding throughout the week and this weekend as I go through a major purge in my closet!
