Just got back from vacation so I’m going to give my body a few days to detox ;) I’ll be weighing in on Saturday for my end of July weight - will I hit 156? Probably not but it’s been a good month with TWO races so no biggie.
The next few weeks are going to be a little crazy for me - next week Wednesday through Saturday, I’ll be at a conference for work (bringing my running clothes though!!) and then I leave the day after that to go to the beach for a week (first long vacation of the year!). But I will work on queuing some stuff up so you won’t miss me too much! :)
Last day! :( but it went very well! We ran our timed loop around lake Barton - the first class I ran it at an 11 minute mile and today I ran it at a 9 minute mile! I think those times might be exagerrated but it was definitely faster! :)
Yesterday ended up as a rest day. After my massage (which wasn’t very good. Sadfaces), I got a call from Roswell that he had driven through a flooded road and was stuck on the roadside waiting for a tow truck. I was right near the repair shop where he and his car were being taken so I drove straight there and waited. Once he got there and took some stuff out of his car, we then went to get dinner and drinks (for him, not me! I was good and drank water). I offered to drive him over to my parents to borrow a car and after dinner he decided, yes, he probably should have a car tomorrow.
So long story short, we didn’t get home until after 10 and I was super sleepy.
But today is our last day of running 101 class and I’m going to kick ass at my timed mile! :)
I’ve missed Bikram soooooo much, so I was excited to see this offer pop into my email this morning for Bikram Yoga Fairfax. They have the same instructors as the studio I went to in Reston so I’m so excited to make my return to Bikram! :)
So my legs are pretty strong but I’d really like to work on my abs and arms… I was thinking about trying the Hundred Pushups program and doing something similar with abs. Any one tried it?
Wednesday: abs & arms/rest
Thursday: Last Running 101 class!
Friday: Boot camp class
Saturday: Easy recovery jog - 2.5 miles (since my legs are always super sore from boot camp)
Sunday: Long run - 5 miles (in prep for my Five Miler on 7/23)
Monday: 90 minutes yoga
Tuesday: Easy run
Heather, you are SO CLOSE to being in the 150s! Can you taste it yet?
Speaking of taste - how are you feeling after that fishy incident?
I KNOW, right?! So close :)
Ugh. The fish worked it’s way through my system and while I didn’t have much appetite, I knew eating something delicious would help with feeling vomit-y. So I had some delicious turkey bean chili and felt so much better! Thanks for asking FitBud! You’re so thoughtful! :)
My legs were super tight, even after yoga last night, so I mostly took it easy today. We ran one mile, then one mile switching between jogging, sprinting, walking and a drill (1. High knee march 2. Butt kicks 3. Grape vines 4. Hopping… 5…. I’m missing one…). I was pretty spent after that (because it was ridiculously hot), I opted for core work rather than another mile… So some ladder climbs, crab walks and lower ab exercises and I was done!
The last contest was so much fun I thought I would give out something really cool this time. The tumblr that is randomly drawn from the list of people that reblog this post will win a pair of Nike Free+ 2 in their size and style of choice!
The past week has been really crazy for me at work. There have been a lot of changes and it’s been almost emotionally draining so I haven’t had enough energy to be writing and checking up on tumblr after my daily workout. To give you an idea of what’s happened, my company announced a major reorganization and I’m one of those employees being moved into another department. My position was in Marketing and I’m now in IT… yes, you read that right… I’m moving from Marketing to IT. I think it will be a good move but it’s just a big change.
So it’s been a little busy the past few days at work and then I was out all day yesterday. But I’ve got my June goals revisited and July goals coming up and hopefully things will work out in every other aspect of my life! I’m just going to keep concentrating on myself!
