Life Lessons from Dr. Jones →
runningwithguts: kimijoy: If you don’t know this about me yet, you should: I absolutely love Indiana Jones. He was partially my inspiration for getting a second major in anthropology. He’s also my one agreed-upon “freebie” with Mr. B. (Just to clarify, it is Indiana Jones NOT Harrison Ford.) I love Indy. I love all things Indy-related. I’m a total Indiana Jones nerd. And I’m darn proud of...
So thinking about races for the spring...
And I’d like to do a half marathon in May. I’m thinking either the Historic Half on May 20th in Fredericksburg or the Alexandria Running Festival Half on May 27th in Alexandria (duh) :) What do you think? Any one done these/plan on doing them in 2012?

This Is The Dealio, Yo.: Feed The Turkey Virtual... →
activeinpink: It literally costs a $1 dollar donation to join this 5k. It’s the 2nd annual virtual turkey trot. Last year they raised over $3,000 for St. Jude’s. This year, 100% of all proceeds go to charity: water. All you have to do is post exactly a 5 km run, walk or bike for it to apply to…
Apparently I was tired this morning...
Slept through all three of my alarms, even after going to sleep at 9 last night. But weighed in at 154.7 - much better than yesterday’s 156.6! I just don’t think my body likes Tuesdays. ;)
Initial weigh in: 156.6 Nov 15: 156.6 GH4Lr2 goal: -15 pounds Total lost: 0 pounds Left to goal: -15 pounds can we say frustrating? I’ve gotten really lax with everything lately and I have no excuses. I mean, I’ve got ‘em but they’re not going to change anything. I’ve been dreading the scale for this reason. What I can do better: Eat more veggies! Eat less...
MY 26.2 MILE LONG JOURNEY: Holiday gift guide! →
chasefear: Do you have a runner in your life and you are absolutely clueless as to what to buy them? Well, you’re in luck because the following list includes small, but essential items for a runner’s stocking! CLOTHING: -Running gloves -Winter hat/ear warmers -Socks and shoelaces -Headbands …
Oh, what a difference a year makes.
runningwithguts: In January of this year, I weighed in at 221 pounds, I was pretty unhappy very depressed, and I could barely run 3 miles. I now care little about my weight (though I’ve lost a bunch), I am the happiest I’ve ever been, and on Sunday, I learned that I can run 26.2 miles without walking a single step. And apparently I can smile the entire time. (be warned; this puppy is photo...
Anonymous asked: What's your favorite color? - Your Secret Santa :)
You know what my priorities are when the only items I’ve packed for this weekend are my running shoes and clothes… Still need the dress, shoes, wrap to wear to the wedding, which is the purpose of the trip!
Today's run: Easy 3 →
3.66 miles to be exact - it was such a nice day for running! Perfect temps, lovely fall colors. One of those days to just enjoy your run and nature (without music!). No excuses November: 3/15
Jingle All the Way 8K →
Thinking about this race on Sunday, December 11th… One of my sorority sisters, who I haven’t really talked to in a while, emailed me and asked if I was interested in joining a team with her. I guess this is what happens when you start posting your runs on Facebook.
Robin Does Running: SPECTACULAR ST. JUDE RAFFLE →
Reblogging so I remember to donate… you should too! robindoesrunning: Last year, I ran my first half marathon as a St. Jude Hero!! It was an AMAZING event that impacted me greatly. So many of you were extremely kind to help in the fundraising efforts and we raised $1,000 dollars to help the efforts of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the families who…
Today's workout: 30 minutes on the bike, 60 minute... →
Was kind of in a funk all day (… not really kind of, definitely was). I don’t even get me started on what happened at lunchtime (it involved the Target Halloween Candy clearance aisle). So I was hoping that Zumba would bring me out of my funk, and it did - still not 100% but it definitely helped. :) No excuses November: 2/15
Today's Run →
4.05 miles in a hilly neighborhood nearby I officially think I can’t run with Roswell (/anyone else) anymore (at least for right now). I try to run too fast too quickly and I get side cramps. Once we split off and I was able to settle into my 12:00 pace, they went away and it was a pretty easy and enjoyable run. No excuses November: 1/15
Take the stairs!
So a few months ago, I was a loyal stairs taker all of the time. Then my office was moved from the second floor to the fifth floor in September. Since then I’ve stopped taking the stairs and feel much lazier. So one of my goals for November is to start taking the stairs again - I hope it helps!
